Duration: 3 Days (10 am to 5 pm with one hour lunch break)
Cost: $ 1499 + HST
On special request the workshop can be done on weekday nights or on weekends.
Prerequisite: Technical Background
Overview
This course provides an introduction to the use of Geographic Information System (GIS) technology and spatial analysis methods. GIS goes beyond traditional automated mapping techniques to facilitate flexible use of electronic data formats, powerful analysis capabilities with relational databases, and extended analysis functions to accomplish address-matching, raster analysis, and 3-D vector terrain representation. Participants will master the core functionality of ArcView GIS software (ESRI) as well as several extension programs for spatial (raster) and 3-D (vector) analysis. Class sessions combine conceptual overviews with structured hands-on experience completing tasks using the software. Participants will create, edit, display, query, and analyze geographic and tabular data and create maps and charts suitable for presentations.
